CareTech’s Red Rock Lodge in Haigh, near Wigan (WN2) is seeking a Residential Support Worker to help young people with daily routines, school prep and activity planning. The role includes sleep-ins, with pay aligned to 8 sleep-ins per month and a requirement for a UK manual driving licence.

The post emphasizes building trust, providing emotional support and promoting individuality within a warm, home-like setting. Full training will be provided where needed.

Responsibilities

• Support children with daily routines (getting ready for school, meals, activities).

• Build warm, safe relationships and offer emotional support.
• Assist with light housekeeping to create a homely environment.
• Plan and participate in activities like trips to the park or movie nights.

What You’ll Do

As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will support young people with their daily routines; Getting them ready for school, prepping for meal times and planning activities.

• Ensure our children receive the highest level of support
• Dayshifts with sleep-ins
• Support senior staff with timely updates
• Promote individuality NOT a "one size fits all" approach
• Average of 8 sleep-ins per month
• Complete and update care plans regularly, updating with any additional requirements
• Be part of a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping
• Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support
• Plan and join fun activities like trips to the park, popcorn & movie nights or creative projects

New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately. Experience with Clearcare is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided. However, all staff are expected to confidently use digital systems as part of their day-to-day role.
