Job summary

TeacherActive is supporting a children’s residential provider in Carmarthenshire to recruit Residential Support Workers. The role offers full and part-time hours with both day and night shifts. You will join a child-focused team committed to safety, consistency, and listening to each child's wishes.

Ideal candidates have residential care experience, DBS clearance or willingness to apply, and registration with Social Care Wales or willingness to pursue it. Driving licence is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential/care settings is required.
• Willingness to apply for DBS clearance and Social Care Wales registration.
• Ability to support young people with challenging behaviours or trauma is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide residential support to children and young people in care.
• Support with daily routines and safety, promoting consistency and trust.
• Collaborate with the team to maintain a child-focused environment.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a children’s residential provider in the heart of Carmarthenshire to look for Residential Support Workers. The houses care for children and young people who have been diagnosed with EBD (Emotional Behavioural Difficulties) and SEMH (Social Emotional Mental Health), or complex trauma needs.

We are looking for a Residential Support Workers to work on a full and part time basis with varying day and night shifts available. Our residential provider adopts an ethos that is child focused, while understanding that children will thrive when they feel safe and secure. A focus on providing consistency and continuity, ensuring at all times that children’s wishes are heard and respected.

The successful Residential Support Worker will have:

• Experience of working in residential/care settings
• Child & Adult DBS or willingness to apply
• Registered with Social Care Wales or willingness to apply
• Experience supporting young people with challenging behaviours or trauma
• Desirable – driving licence
• Flexibility with shifts
