Job summary

Choice Care is seeking a Cook to prepare and serve healthy meals for residents in our homes in Cannock Chase. You will oversee weekly budgets and shopping lists and work with staff to ensure safety.

Key duties include dietary requirements, food safety, kitchen cleanliness, stock control, health and safety, and adherence to policies. Benefits include holiday entitlement, sick pay, EAP, and progression opportunities at Choice Care.

Responsibilities

• Dietary requirements: Follow instructions for allergies, special diets, cultural or religious requirements, and texture-modified meals.
• Food hygiene: Follow food safety procedures, including handwashing, safe food storage, cleaning surfaces, and preventing cross-contamination.
• Kitchen cleaning: Wash dishes and utensils, clean worktops and equipment, empty bins, and keep the kitchen organised.
• Stock control: Check food supplies, report shortages, and help store deliveries correctly.
• Health and safety: Use kitchen equipment safely and report hazards, accidents, or faulty equipment.
• Following policies: Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, infection control, food safety, and health and safety procedures.
