Job summary

Nicholas Associates are partnering with a residential groundworks company to recruit a Construction Director. You will provide strategic leadership, oversee all construction activities, and build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors. A significant client-facing role and development of team capabilities are central to the position.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field (desirable).
• Extensive experience (10+ years) in residential groundworks subcontracting.
• Previous experience as a Contracts Manager / Senior Contracts Manager or Construction Director.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with a background in leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Client relationship skills with the ability to understand and align with client objectives, ensuring clear communication and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Technical expertise: read drawings and understand construction processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and professional guidance to Contracts Managers, Project Managers and the team.
• Lead all construction aspects of the business' work.
• Collaborate with the Managing Director, project teams and sub-contractors to build strong relationships.
• Develop team capabilities and shape future strategy.
• Maintain a significant client-facing role to establish and nurture client relationships.
