Job summary

HMS is seeking a Technical Manager to lead the technical and design delivery of our residential developments, driving quality, compliance and innovation across the programme.

As a core member of the Leadership Team, you will manage Design Coordinators, Document Controllers and a Project Planner, providing governance, resolving design challenges and ensuring successful project outcomes within time and budget. This role supports growth and continuous improvement across HMS.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or higher in construction-related discipline.
• CSCS card or equivalent health and safety qualification.
• 5+ years in a senior Technical Manager/Design Manager role.
• Strong knowledge of design technologies and governance.
• Experience with NHBC/LABC warranties and building regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical and design delivery from tender to handover.
• Provide governance across multiple projects to ensure compliance.
• Manage design reviews and mitigate technical risks early.
• Ensure compliance with Building Regulations and CDM 2015.
• Review drawings and specs to maintain quality and consistency.
• Coordinate external consultants and stakeholders to meet programme.
• Develop and monitor design programmes aligned with milestones.
• Lead and develop Design Coordinators, Document Controllers, Planner.
• Embed technical processes and controls for excellence.
• Manage workloads and budgets to support growth.
