Job summary

Ritz Recruitment is seeking a reliable Maintenance Operative to join a large residential development in central Manchester. You will handle reactive, planned and preventative maintenance across apartments, communal areas and retail spaces, carrying out plumbing, basic electrical work and decorating, and supporting with turnarounds and safety inspections.

The role offers stable, full-time hours with occasional weekend work.

Qualifications

Proven experience in general maintenance across a residential environment.
Good all-round skills including plumbing, basic electrical works and decorating.
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
Good communication skills and resident-focused approach.
Flexibility to work occasional weekends as required.
Health and safety administration experience.

Responsibilities

Carry out reactive, planned and preventative maintenance across the development.
Respond to maintenance requests in apartments, communal areas and retail spaces.
Perform general repairs including plumbing, electrical basics and decorating.
Support with apartment turnarounds and end-of-tenancy works.
Complete regular building inspections to identify issues or safety risks.
Assist with planned maintenance checks and compliance activities.
Work with wider estate and property teams and support on-site contractors.
