Job summary

Adecco in Manchester is seeking an experienced Maintenance Operative to join a high-quality residential development in Manchester City Centre. You will be part of an on-site team delivering upkeep for apartments, communal areas and resident facilities to a high standard.

Responsibilities include reactive and planned maintenance, basic repairs (plumbing, joinery, decorating), health and safety checks and liaising with external contractors. A proactive, customer-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

  • Proven maintenance experience in building or facilities environments.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing, joinery, decorating and general repair tasks.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and safe working practices.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive and flexible approach to work.

  • Respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
  • Support the wider management team with operational requirements across the development.

About the Company

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Operative to join a high-quality residential development in Manchester City Centre. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on, customer‑focused maintenance professional to become part of a busy on‑site team responsible for maintaining apartments, communal areas and resident facilities to a high standard.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of the residential development, providing a high standard of service to residents.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out reactive and planned maintenance across the development.
  • Complete general repairs including plumbing, joinery, decorating and basic electrical works.
  • Undertake apartment repairs, redecoration and preparation for new residents.
  • Support planned preventative maintenance programmes.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
Preferred Skills
  • Trade qualification in Plumbing, Joinery, Electrical Installation or a related discipline.
  • Experience within residential, Build to Rent, student accommodation, hospitality or facilities management environments.
Pay range and compensation package

Competitive salary of £28,000 - £31,000 per annum.
