Job summary

MK Consult is recruiting a Design Engineer for a growing housebuilder in Warrington. You will manage engineering design from land acquisition through to construction, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and to high standards.

The role involves coordinating civil and structural engineers, reviewing designs, and supporting planning authorities and utility providers, with opportunities for professional development and career progression.

Qualifications

• Experience as Design Engineer, Civil Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer in housebuilding/residential development.
• Strong understanding of residential infrastructure design.
• Knowledge of Section 38/Section 278/Section 104 agreements.
• Experience dealing with planning authorities and utility providers.
• Understanding of drainage, highways and earthworks design principles.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple developments simultaneously.
• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating and managing civil and structural engineering consultants.
• Reviewing and approving engineering designs for residential developments.
• Assisting with site appraisals, feasibility studies and technical due diligence.
• Designing and coordinating roads, sewers, drainage and infrastructure solutions.
• Managing utility enquiries and service diversions.
• Liaising with local authorities, statutory undertakers and adoption bodies.
• Ensuring designs comply with planning conditions, building regulations and industry standards.
• Supporting the land, technical and construction teams throughout the development process.
• Identifying value engineering opportunities and cost-effective solutions.
