Job summary

Build Recruitment is seeking an experienced Decorator to join a busy property maintenance team in Bracknell. You will perform internal and external painting, tiling, and damp treatment across residential properties, ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

The role requires NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, driving licence, and strong communication and safety awareness. You will work with other trades to deliver efficient maintenance services, and opportunities for ongoing training

Qualifications

• City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Painting & Decorating and/or Tiling, or relevant time-served experience.
• Desirable previous experience in property maintenance or social housing.
• Good knowledge of preparation, repairs, decoration techniques and materials.
• Experience treating damp and mould is advantageous.
• Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures and safe practices.
• Competent using a smartphone or tablet to update job records.
• A full UK driving licence.
• A reliable, professional and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out internal and external painting and decorating works across residential properties.
• Complete tiling works, including minor wall repairs and preparation.
• Wash down and treat damp and mould per manufacturer guidelines.
• Undertake external cleaning and maintenance of windows, doors, soffits, fascias and porches.
• Carry out minor repairs to timber window frames, doors, guttering and other external fixtures.
• Manage daily workloads, attend appointments on time and complete jobs on schedule.
• Maintain communication with customers and scheduling team, providing progress updates.
• Ensure all work aligns with health and safety regulations and risk assessments.
• Order materials when required and ensure cost-effective completion.
• Accurately record completed jobs, timesheets and materials using a smartphone or tablet.
• Collaborate with other trades to deliver efficient property maintenance.
