Job summary

Leading Scottish Borders Firm seeks a Residential Conveyancing Solicitor (NQ–3 PQE) in Galashiels to manage a full caseload from instruction to completion. You will handle sales, purchases, remortgages and new builds with autonomy but the support of an experienced team.

You’ll join a client‑focussed, collaborative property team, with opportunities to contribute to business development and community engagement in the Scottish Borders. A competitive salary is offered, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Qualified Scottish Solicitor with NQ–3 PQE and ability to manage residential conveyancing matters independently.
• Strong knowledge of Scottish conveyancing procedures and practices.
• Excellent communication and client care skills, with proactive, organised and team‑oriented approach.
• Willingness to network and contribute to business development in the local market.

Responsibilities

• Managing a full residential conveyancing caseload from instruction to completion
• Handling sales, purchases, remortgages, transfers of title and new builds
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating missives
• Liaising with clients, lenders, estate agents and other solicitors
• Maintaining accurate file management and case records
• Supporting business development and client relationship growth
• Assisting with supervision of junior team members
