Job summary

Cullen Kilshaw is seeking a qualified solicitor in Scotland to manage a varied caseload of residential conveyancing in Galashiels from instruction to completion.

You will advise clients, liaise with agents and lenders, draft and negotiate missives, and ensure compliance with professional standards while supporting junior team members and engaging in business development.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor in Scotland (NQ–5+ PQE) with experience in residential conveyancing.
• Experience handling residential conveyancing independently.
• Strong knowledge of Scottish conveyancing practice and procedures.
• Excellent client care and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience of rural property transactions.
• Familiarity with case management systems.
• Interest in business development and networking.

Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of residential conveyancing transactions including sales and purchases, remortgages, transfers of title and New Build purchases.
• Provide clear, practical legal advice to clients in a timely manner.
• Liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders and other solicitors.
• Draft, review and negotiate missives.
• Ensure compliance with Law Society of Scotland standards and AML requirements.
• Maintain accurate file records and case management systems.
• Contribute to business development and maintaining client relationships.
• Support and supervise junior team members where appropriate.
