Job summary

QED Legal LLP is seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancing Paralegal to join a busy property team in the Scottish Borders. You will be responsible for residential property transactions from the early stages through to post settlement and will liaise with clients, lenders and agents to keep matters moving.

You will prepare and submit offers, draft conveyancing documents, order searches, review title deeds, and ensure timelines are met, with a focus on accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experienced Residential Conveyancing Paralegal or strong conveyancing experience in a Scottish law practice.
• Able to manage files with minimal supervision and progress transactions to deadlines.
• Excellent client liaison skills and proactive, organised approach.

Responsibilities

• Involved in residential property transactions from early stages to post settlement.
• Prepare and submit offers, draft conveyancing documentation, order and review searches.
• Deal with title deeds and reports, ensure progress within required timescales.
• Liaise with lenders, estate agents, and other solicitors to move transactions forward.
• Handle post settlement tasks including registration, LBTT submissions, AML and regulatory compliance.

I have a great opportunity for an experienced Residential Conveyancing Paralegal who would like to join a busy property team in the Scottish Borders.

If you enjoy having responsibility for your own work, keeping transactions moving and being the person clients can rely on throughout the conveyancing process, this could be a really good next move.

The role will see you involved in residential property transactions from the early stages right through to post settlement. You will prepare and submit offers, draft conveyancing documentation, order and review searches, deal with title deeds and reports and make sure everything progresses within the required timescales.

There will be plenty of client contact, and you will liaise regularly with lenders, estate agents, other solicitors and everyone else involved in getting a transaction over the line.

You will also deal with the post settlement side, including registration and LBTT submissions, as well as ensuring files are kept up to date and all AML and regulatory requirements are met.

I am keen to hear from experienced Residential Conveyancing Paralegals as well as people who may not have the formal Paralegal qualification but have gained strong practical conveyancing experience within a Scottish law practice.

If you are already comfortable managing files with minimal supervision, that's great. Equally, if you have good conveyancing experience but are looking for the opportunity to take that next step and develop greater responsibility, I would be very happy to hear from you.
