Job summary

TSR Legal is seeking a Residential Conveyancing Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer to join its property team in Port Talbot. You will handle sales, purchases, remortgages, and related tasks from instruction to completion.

You will work autonomously on your caseload with support from the team, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, provide clear cost quotations, and keep clients updated throughout the conveyancing process.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience in residential conveyancing.
• CQS accreditation or eligibility.
• Ability to manage caseload independently and within a team.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of SRA/CLC Code of Conduct and AML regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own residential conveyancing caseload (sales, purchases, remortgages).
• Prepare and issue contracts and packs; obtain and review searches and redemption statements.
• Provide cost quotations and liaise with clients, lenders and third parties.
• Ensure completion steps are handled and post-completion duties completed.
• Maintain accurate records and stay updated on property law developments.

Residential Conveyancing Solicitor / Licensed Conveyancer

Location: Port Talbot
Salary: From £34,000 depending on experience
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm
Contract: Permanent, following a 5-month probationary period

The Opportunity

TSR Legal are currently working with a well-established law firm that is looking to appoint an experienced Residential Conveyancing Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer to join its growing residential property team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and client-focused conveyancer who is looking to join a supportive team and take responsibility for their own caseload, handling matters from initial instruction through to completion and post-completion.

The Role

You will manage your own residential conveyancing caseload, dealing with a broad range of property matters including:

• Sales and purchases
• New-build transactions
• Remortgages
• Taking initial client instructions and providing clear cost quotations
• Preparing and issuing contract packs
• Applying for searches and obtaining redemption statements
• Preparing files for completion and ensuring all parties are kept updated
• Liaising with clients, lenders, agents and other third parties throughout transactions
• Completing all necessary post-completion work
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in line with the firm's procedures and best practice
• Keeping up to date with developments in residential property law and relevant regulations

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• At least 2 years' proven experience working within residential conveyancing
• CQS accreditation
• The ability to manage a caseload independently while also working effectively as part of a wider team
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Excellent client care and communication skills
• A positive, professional and friendly approach
• Good IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and case management systems
• A good understanding of the relevant regulatory requirements, including the SRA or CLC Code of Conduct
• Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering, mortgage fraud and counter-terrorism regulations
• A good understanding of CQS requirements and best practice
