Job summary

Shirley Parsons Ltd. is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor for Exeter and surrounding areas, covering multiple residential sites.

The role involves providing practical on-site health and safety support, ensuring compliance with legislation, and driving a strong safety culture across projects. You will report to the Health & Safety Manager, influence site teams, and contribute to risk assessments, safe systems of work, and safety training initiatives.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a construction health & safety role.
Residential construction experience preferred.
NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum.
Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
Full UK driving licence.
Ability to work independently across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

Conduct site inspections, audits and safety reviews across multiple residential developments.
Provide competent health and safety advice to site teams and management.
Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts, identifying root causes and preventative actions.
Produce detailed inspection and audit reports.
Deliver toolbox talks and support ongoing health and safety training initiatives.
Promote a positive and proactive approach to health and safety across all projects.
