Job summary

TeacherActive are partnering with a school and residential setting in Herefordshire to support children with severe Autism and Learning Disabilities. The role focuses on enabling learning, developing confidence, and promoting independence through long-term programmes in education and daily living skills.

The successful candidate will work on a 3 on 3 off rota, with training provided for Level 3 qualifications and potential permanent employment in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Requires willingness to complete Level 3 in Children and Young People workforce, funded by provider.
• Previous experience with children and young people or in a care role is preferred.
• Candidate must be able to gain references for a permanent role.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high standard of personal care for each young person, including wellbeing and hygiene.
• Take Key Worker responsibility for individual young people.
• Support students in the community, activities, and holidays; drive company vehicle after training.
• Engage with pupils, support learning and social activities; monitor behaviour and triggers.
• Read and follow risk assessments and placement plans; maintain records.
