Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking dedicated Children's Support Workers for roles in Porth, Wales. You will support children in residential settings, promote wellbeing, and help them participate in activities, while following care plans and safeguarding policies.

The role requires empathy, resilience, and a commitment to safeguarding, with shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers. DBS update service is preferred, with driving licence and transport essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months experience working with children or in a social care setting.
• Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence and own transport.
• Current DBS on the update service (child and adult) or willingness to obtain one.
• Restraint training (TMVA) or willingness to undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with daily activities and interests
• Promote independence and wellbeing among young residents
• Attend trips, outings, and activities to enrich their social experiences
• Assist with behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
• Follow care plans and risk assessments to ensure safety and support
• Provide emotional and practical support to children in your care
• Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safeguarding policies
• Support children during weekends away, holidays, and special events
