Residential Childcare Worker - Full-time Days

Full UK manual driving licence is required.

In your new role

This role offers the opportunity to be part of a dedicated team working directly with young people, supporting them with a range of complex needs related to their life experiences and childhood adversity.

What will you do?

1. Work positively, respectfully, and empower young people to promote good relationships and achievements.
2. Collaborate with the team to meet the social, emotional, educational, and mental health needs of young people.
3. Encourage participation of young people in domestic tasks to develop self-care skills.
4. Write review reports, conduct risk assessments, and contribute to care plans.
5. Liaise with parents and partner agencies to ensure the best interests of the young people are maintained and promoted.

What we look for?

• Understanding of developmental needs and milestones of young people.
• Experience working with children and families.
• Full UK manual driving licence.
• Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with young people, parents/carers, and professionals.
• Proficiency in producing clear, concise reports and verbally presenting information.
• Ability to challenge individuals appropriately, remain calm, and stay objective in difficult situations.
• HNC in Social Care, SVQ level 3 in Care, or an equivalent qualification, or willingness to undertake these qualifications.

Additional information

All Residential Childcare Workers will need to undergo a PVG check and achieve membership prior to starting. CareTech covers the cost of this check. For roles based in England, an Enhanced DBS check is also required, with costs covered by the employer.
