Headway Adolescent Resources has established a strong reputation in the residential adolescent childcare sector, pride themselves on caring for young people as individuals in a holistic manner, regardless of their background.

We are currently seeking Residential Childcare Workers to join our residential homes.

Purpose of Job

Based in a children's residential home, you will work with young people exhibiting challenging behaviour. Flexibility, resilience, honesty, and organization are essential, alongside a commitment to providing high-quality childcare to help young people achieve positive outcomes.

This permanent role offers excellent career prospects and comprehensive training within an expanding company. You will work on an average hours per week schedule, with day shifts and sleep-ins. Benefits include allowances for bank holidays, overtime, and a performance-related bonus scheme.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience working with challenging young people (preferably in residential settings, but not essential)
• Qualified to QCF level in Children and Young People or willing to work towards this qualification (fully funded)
• Ability to work independently, maintain accurate records
• Good interpersonal skills and a positive team attitude
• Intermediate computer skills
• Ability to complete daily records in compliance with statutory and policy requirements
• Empathetic nature
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to motivate and engage young people
