Job Title: Residential Childcare Support Worker

Role Overview: We are seeking a Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our exceptional team based in Birmingham. We need someone with the passion and determination to go the extra mile to create a home that every child truly deserves. This includes creating a space brimming with activity, new experiences, and, most importantly, fun and laughter.

Due to ensuring continuity for the young people in our care, we require our staff to work flexibly. Staff are required to work a 3-week rolling rota which will incorporate 2 weeks of day shifts and one week of waking nights. Day shifts required are 15 hours long.

You will be fully supported in your new role with a comprehensive induction program and ongoing development. This role is both rewarding and challenging, requiring a strong commitment to our values and the ability to handle difficult situations with resilience.

  • To promote and adhere to the workplace values of Dignus Group (Resilience, Courage, Integrity, Respect, Confidence, and Innovation)
  • Complete key domestic duties on a day-to-day basis that ensure a homely environment is maintained.
  • To promote, safeguard, and protect the welfare of each young person.
  • Establish and maintain positive and trusting relationships with the young people.
  • Manage behaviour positively and assertively by working in line with specified care and risk management plans.
  • Encourage the development of individual interests and attitudes by planning, organising, and participating in activities.
  • Experience of supporting young people who may be vulnerable is desired but not essential.
  • A desire to learn; we provide full training for you to achieve a Childcare Diploma.
  • Successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check at enhanced level.

  • You are able to provide emotional and social support whilst promoting dignity and respect.
  • You show integrity by conducting yourself ethically, honestly, and honourably.
  • You possess the moral strength to do what is right at all times.
  • You show resilience by never giving up or compromising on quality.
  • You are confident to challenge ways of working to encourage new ideas and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Due to the ages of our young people, you will need to be above 21 years.
  • A good standard of written and verbal English.
