Job description

Father Hudson’s Caritas has a vacancy for a Family Support Worker to provide a range of support services addressing the social and emotional needs of children and their families. We seek an experienced professional with the knowledge and skills to undertake direct work with vulnerable primary and secondary aged children and their families. This is a school-based role, requiring work in three schools.

Details of the role:

1. Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Thursday (four days)
2. Contract: Fixed Term until 31/08/2026, with potential for extension
3. Location:
   • St Gerards Catholic Primary School, Yatesbury Ave, Castle Vale, Birmingham, B35 6LB (2 days)
   • St Edmund Campion Catholic School, Sutton Road, Erdington, Birmingham, B23 5XA (1 day)
   • SS Peter & Paul Catholic Primary School, Kingsbury Road, Erdington, Birmingham, B20 3AE (1 day)
4. Salary: SCP 27-30, £23,812.26 to £26,397.71 per annum (pro rata)
5. Requirements: Full driving licence and access to a car are essential.

Working with schools, health and social care agencies, and the voluntary sector, our Family Support Service aims to support children and families facing adversity, particularly affecting emotional wellbeing, mental health, and educational achievement.
