Job summary

Lancashire County Council is recruiting Residential Child Care Workers for East Lancashire, including Clitheroe, Burnley and Padiham. You will provide care and support to children aged 11 to 17 in a home setting, building positive relationships and supporting daily routines.

Role involves a rota pattern including days, evenings, weekends and sleep-in shifts; you’ll eat and sleep at the home and undertake basic household tasks while helping children express feelings and link with social care

Qualifications

• Passionate about working with children and families.
• Ability to engage with children aged 11–17 in a safe, caring manner.
• Willingness to work a rota including days, evenings, weekends and sleep-in shifts.

Responsibilities

• Listen to and engage children in 1:1 work around feelings, emotions and behaviour.
• Provide daily care tasks at the children's home (meals, cleaning, shopping).
• Liaise with social workers, schools and health professionals to meet children's needs.
