Job summary

Kyloe House, part of Northumberland County Council, seeks a reliable maintenance operative to join a multi-skilled team. The role focuses on painting and decorating across Kyloe House and other open residential homes, ensuring safe, welcoming environments for young people and staff.

You will handle minor repairs, maintain cleanliness and safety, work at height, hold a full UK driving licence, and support apprentices.

Qualifications

• Level 2-3 qualification in painting, decorating, tiling or equivalent experience.
• Ability to use handheld IT equipment to receive and complete work tasks.
• Able to work safely at height using ladders and appropriate equipment.
• Flexible approach to working across Kyloe House and other Northumberland homes.
• Commitment to health and safety and COSHH responsibilities.
• Strong communication and professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Carry out painting and decorating across Kyloe House and associated homes.
• Perform minor repairs such as patching, tiling, joinery and basic plumbing tasks.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and tidy working environment at all times.
• Work across multiple residential homes as required to support service needs.
• Support apprentices or work experience placements.
