Job summary

Northumberland County Council invites applications for a permanent, full-time maintenance painter based at Kyloe House, Morpeth. The role focuses on painting, decorating and multi-skilled maintenance across residential homes, with additional tasks across sites as needed.

You will work in occupied settings with young people, upholding professionalism and high standards, and may support apprentices and placements. A Level 2–3 qualification and a full driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Level 2–3 qualification in painting, decorating, tiling or equivalent experience.
• Ability to use handheld IT equipment to receive and complete tasks.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Northumberland.

Responsibilities

• Paint and decorate to high standards while maintaining safe, welcoming environments.
• Carry out minor repairs: patching, basic tiling, joinery and simple plumbing.
• Work across Kyloe House and other residential homes as required to support service needs.
• Support apprentices or work experience placements where appropriate.
