Job summary

Brandon James is seeking a Building Surveyor to specialise in residential surveys. The role starts with RICS Level 2 and Level 3 surveys, with the firm providing training to broaden into wider building surveying.

AssocRICS is ideal, but MRICS is not required, and the base should be within a reasonable commute to Reading. The package includes a salary of £35,000–£45,000 depending on experience, 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, bonus structure, pension, and structured APC training.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with RICS Level 2 surveys.
• Hands-on experience with RICS Level 3 surveys.
• Assocation with AssocRICS or plan to work towards it.
• Based within a sensible commute of Reading.

Responsibilities

• Carry out RICS Level 2 and Level 3 surveys on residential property.
• Inspect and diagnose defects, damp and movement.
• Write clear, accurate survey reports.
• Talk clients through findings and next steps.
• Manage your own diary of inspections.
• Progress to wider building surveying work as training progresses.
