Job summary

ARC Group is recruiting an Assistant Site Manager for a permanent position in Heybridge, Essex. You will support the Site Manager with day-to-day management of a residential development, coordinating subcontractors, monitoring progress and ensuring quality and safety standards.

You should have experience in traditional build residential housing, NHBC knowledge, and a Level 4 NVQ in construction site supervision or management, plus a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Assistant Site Manager on residential developments.
• Level 4 NVQ in Construction Site Supervision or Management.
• Experience with NHBC standards and build quality expectations.
• Strong health and safety knowledge and site compliance.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of a residential housing development.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades and site personnel to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
• Monitor build progress against the construction programme, identifying potential delays and supporting corrective actions.
• Ensure all works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, building regulations and NHBC standards.
• Maintain quality control through regular site inspections and prompt defect rectification.
• Promote a positive health and safety culture and ensure compliance with policies and statutory requirements.
• Assist with site inductions, toolbox talks, risk assessments and method statement compliance.
• Monitor materials, deliveries and site logistics to ensure resources are available when required.
• Liaise with the Site Manager, technical teams, contractors and stakeholders to resolve site issues and maintain progress.
• Support inspections, quality checks and sign-off processes throughout the build programme.
• Help ensure plots are completed to the required specification and handed over on programme deadlines.
• Maintain accurate site records and contribute to progress reporting.
• Assist with customer care and handover activities, ensuring completed homes meet quality expectations.
