Job summary

ARC Group, in partnership with a leading PLC residential developer, is recruiting an Assistant Site Manager for a permanent role in Ongar, Essex. You will support the Site Manager, coordinate subcontractors and oversee build progress.

The ideal candidate has experience in traditional build residential housing, knowledge of NHBC standards, Level 4 NVQ in a relevant discipline, and a full UK driving licence. The role offers £50k-£55k plus car allowance and benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager is essential.
• Minimum Level 4 NVQ in Construction Site Supervision or Management.
• Experience with residential developers and NHBC standards.
• Solid knowledge of health & safety legislation on-site.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Ability to monitor construction programmes and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support the Site Manager with day-to-day running of a residential development.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors to ensure safe, quality work.
• Monitor build progress against programme and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure works comply with drawings, specs, building regs and NHBC standards.
• Maintain quality control via site inspections and prompt defect rectification.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture on site.
• Assist with inductions, toolbox talks, risk assessments and method statements.
• Monitor materials, deliveries and site logistics to ensure resources are available.
• Liaise with Site Manager, technical teams and contractors to resolve issues.
• Support inspections, sign-offs and handover activities.
