Job summary

Nellsar Care Homes in Deal are seeking a Recreation and Well-Being Lead to design and coordinate a varied programme of activities that support residents' physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

You will lead the Recreation and Well-Being Team, work with residents and relatives to create person-centred plans, organise events and outings, manage the activities budget and foster links with community groups.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate a varied timetable of meaningful activities, events and outings.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities that interest them, while respecting individual choice and ability.
• Work with residents and their relatives to gather life story information and use this to create person-centred activity plans.
• Organise entertainment, outings, celebrations and special events in partnership with the Home Manager.
• Encourage a whole-home approach, involving care, housekeeping, kitchen and other teams in activities wherever possible.
• Build positive relationships with local community groups and organisations to support resident inclusion and well‑being.
• Manage the activities budget responsibly and ensure the home is well stocked with appropriate recreation equipment.
• Lead, support and develop the Recreation and Well-Being Team, including rotas, regular supervisions and annual appraisals.
• Maintain accurate records of residents' activities and social and well‑being care plans.
