Job summary

Harrier House Care Home in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire, is seeking an Activities Coordinator to enhance residents' wellbeing by delivering engaging, person-centred activities.

You will plan, organise and run group and one-to-one activities, tailored to interests, and work with residents, families and staff to promote participation and community involvement. The role requires alternate weekend work.

Qualifications

• A creative, enthusiastic and organised individual with a passion for enriching the lives of older people.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging group and one-to-one activities tailored to individual needs and preferences.
• Understanding of person-centred care, promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety, infection prevention and safe activity delivery.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and adapt activities to residents' changing needs.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Previous experience in activities, care, hospitality, events, childcare or a similar role is desirable; however, candidates with transferable skills are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, meaningful and person-centred activities that promote independence, choice and social interaction.
• Plan, organise and deliver a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities and life experiences.
• Work closely with residents, families and colleagues, you will encourage participation, support hobbies, organise seasonal events, outings and community activities.
• Ensure activities are delivered safely by following Health & Safety, infection prevention and risk assessment procedures, while maintaining accurate activity records.
• Adapt programmes to meet residents' changing needs and contribute to a welcoming environment where every resident feels valued and included.
• Be available to work alternate weekends.
