Job summary

Hackney Council invites applications for a Resident Participation and Inclusion Officer within Housing Services. You will lead work with residents, tenant and resident associations, estate-based groups, and specialist forums to promote involvement and empowerment.

You will develop governance and guidance, ensure effective financial management of registered groups, and champion inclusive participation across Hackney’s diverse communities with a can-do, cross-department approach.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with residents to promote participation and engagement, preferably in a housing environment.
• Understanding of resident participation principles and practice.
• Experience developing and implementing good community governance.
• Excellent communication and partnership working skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead role in supporting Hackney’s involved residents, including TRAs, estate-based gardening groups and specialist forums.
• Help ensure governance and financial management of registered groups, develop online information and guidance, and promote new group development.
• Promote development of inclusive participation across Hackney’s diverse communities.
• Drive service improvements and innovation on a cross-department basis and with community networks.
