Job summary

Property Management Recruitment seeks an exceptional General Manager to lead a student living community, owning resident experience, operational performance and commercial outcomes. You will manage onsite teams across services, maintenance and housekeeping while ensuring safety and high standards.

In this role you will drive occupancy, retention and satisfaction, balance budgets and KPIs, and oversee contractor performance within a fast-growing platform.

Qualifications

• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in PBSA, BTR, residential property or customer-focused environments.
• Strong commercial awareness with budgeting, KPIs and performance targets.
• Proven track record delivering exceptional resident experiences.
• Understanding of building operations, contractor management, compliance and health & safety.
• Confident communicator capable of stakeholder management and challenging situations.
• Experience with property management, CRM, finance or compliance systems (Yardi optional).

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall performance and day-to-day operation of a student living community.
• Manage and develop teams across resident services, maintenance, and housekeeping.
• Drive occupancy, resident satisfaction, revenue and key performance metrics.
• Manage budgets, forecasting, expenditure and financial performance.
• Ensure the building remains safe, compliant and well maintained.
• Oversee planned and reactive maintenance programmes and contractor performance.
• Handle complaints and resident welfare matters.
• Lead check-in, check-out and summer turnover periods.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, resident experience and commercial performance.
