The University of Manchester is seeking a part-time Research Technician to join a lab focused on gene expression and cell signaling during Drosophila development. The role requires a relevant degree and experience in a research setting. The position offers a market-leading pension and excellent health services.
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic part-time Research Technician to join Hilary Ashe's lab. The post will support the lab's research aimed at understanding how gene expression and cell signalling dynamics regulate cell fate decisions during Drosophila development.
The successful candidate will be practical, organized and independent, with excellent communication skills. Applicants should hold a qualification at QCF level 6 (such as a bachelor's degree or equivalent) in a relevant biological science subject or QCF level 2 passes (such as GCSEs) in English and Mathematics and at least one Science subject, along with substantial relevant experience working in a research laboratory. The position is funded at 0.5 FTE for 1 year.
