The University of Liverpool invites applications for a Research Technician to join the Technical Services Team within the Ocean Sciences group of the School of Environmental Sciences.
The post supports research and teaching across Ocean Sciences and the Liverpool Isotope Facility for Environmental Research (LIFER), collaborating with colleagues across the School and with national and international partners.
Hours of work: Two posts available, Full-time (1.0fte) and Part-time (0.5fte) Tenure: Permanent and Fixed term for 3 years
We are seeking a highly motivated, reliable and committed research technician to join the Technical Services Team within the ocean sciences group in the School of Environmental Sciences. The post will provide specialist technical support to research and teaching activities across Ocean Sciences and the Liverpool Isotope Facility for Environmental Research (LIFER), contributing to a diverse portfolio of multidisciplinary projects and collaborating with academic, research and technical colleagues across the School, as well as collaborators nationally and internationally.
The successful candidate will be the lead technician for ocean biogeochemistry including LIFER and nutrient laboratories. They will support operation and management of elemental analysis isotope ratio mass spectrometry (EA-IRMS) and gas chromatography isotope ratio mass spectrometry (GC-IRMS) instrumentation, alongside nutrients, TOC and plankton imaging.
