Job summary

The University of Aberdeen’s School of Biological Sciences seeks a junior technician for the Doubly Labelled Water Laboratory, located in the Zoology Building. You will assist in providing research materials and analysing samples for our commercial and collaborative partners, with most work conducted in the laboratory.

The post is graded 3, £26,565 per annum, full-time (1.0 FTE) with pro rata for part-time, and flexible for 0.7 FTE or higher. Informal enquiries to Dr Catherine Hambly.

Job Description

We are a world-renowned facility for the measurement of daily energy expenditure in humans and animals. We are seeking a junior technician to join our team to assist in the provision of research materials and the analysis of research samples (human urine and animal blood) for our commercial and collaborative partners. The work will be primarily laboratory based with some office work required.

Main Purpose of the Role: To assist in our thriving Doubly Labelled Water Laboratory.

Salary will be at Grade 3, £26,565.00 per annum, this role is available at 1.0 FTE however, we would consider applications at 0.7 FTE and higher. Salary will be pro rata for part time work.
