Research Scientist

Rushden

We are looking for:

A Research Scientist to perform a broad range of laboratory-based tasks on in vivo metabolism studies for new product development, following global regulatory requirements. This role involves executing analytical procedures, supporting study supervisors, preparing samples for analysis, and assisting in the development of new analytical procedures and study types.

Requirements:

  • BSc (Hons) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences or related subject
  • Previous experience of working in an analytical, biochemistry, or similar laboratory (desirable)
  • Experience of working to GLP (desirable)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Organisational skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office software

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Perform established analytical procedures
  • Conduct general laboratory tasks
  • Support other members of staff as appropriate or as directed by management
  • Prepare samples for quantification, chromatography, or other analysis
  • Assist in the development of new analytical procedures and study types
  • Perform more complex experimental techniques, including dose preparation, dose administration, and HPLC setup and analysis
  • Act as a Study Supervisor on assigned studies, ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard, including:
  • Preparing dose theory calculations
  • Supervising Laboratory Technicians on assigned studies
  • Calculating and QC checking data for review
  • Preparing experimental worksheets
  • Checking for repeat analysis as appropriate
  • Preparing study updates and data for communication to the client and reports
