Job overview

This role offers the opportunity to work with world leaders in spinal cord injury research and contribute to an international study on rehabilitation outcomes. The candidate should have strong research skills and experience in qualitative and quantitative methods, project management, and supervision.

The candidate will support the NSIC Psychology Team in research funded by NIDILRR, led by Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, Chicago. The project involves collaboration with international partners and NHS centres, with a scheduled duration until September 2028.

Main duties of the job

The post involves analysis of focus groups and surveys related to spinal cord injury rehabilitation, working under supervision of Dr. Jane Duff. Flexibility for occasional evening work and UK residency is required.

  • Doctoral level training in clinical psychology, health psychology, or relevant PhD
Experience
  • Research team or clinical trial experience
  • NHS research experience
  • Systematic literature reviews, conference presentations, publications
  • Project management and organisational skills
  • Understanding of psychological and physical health needs
  • Research supervision experience
  • Specialist knowledge of psychological theory related to spinal cord injury
Desirable
  • Experience working with spinal cord injury patients or families
