Full Time 37.5 hours per week. SECONDMENT OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an enthusiastic Research Nurse to join our supportive and dedicated Head and Neck Research team at Sutton site. The Head and Neck Unit at The Royal Marsden is one of the largest of its kind in Europe and is recognized worldwide for its expertise in diagnosing and treating cancers of the head and neck. The Royal Marsden has also become the world's first International Centre for Recurrent Head & Neck Cancer (IReC), aiming to set international standards in treatment, palliation, and supportive care of recurrent head and neck cancers.

The successful applicant will manage a portfolio of head and neck oncology studies and contribute to pioneering research. They will also act as a keyworker for patients enrolled on clinical trials, ensuring high standards of patient care in accordance with GCP principles.

Main duties of the job

• Work under the supervision of Senior or Lead Research Nurses within the Head and Neck research team at Sutton.
• Manage clinical trials related to anti-cancer treatments, symptom management, or screening.
• Recruit, educate, and monitor patients entering clinical trials.
• Support patients with information and act as their advocate.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive research records.
• Ensure research activities safeguard patient well-being and comply with ICH GCP guidelines.
• Contribute to trial design and development, incorporating patient and nurse perspectives.
• Liaise with pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions during trial development.
