Job summary

Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Research Nurse to join the Research & Development team. You will help grow our research portfolio across hospital and community settings, expanding access to high-quality clinical research for local populations.

Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will screen, recruit, consent, and support participants, coordinate visits, collect samples, and ensure GCP and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with post-registration experience and evidence of ongoing professional development.
• GCP Accreditation or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience in clinical trials and project coordination.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Responsibilities

• Deliver a portfolio of clinical research studies from setup to close-down.
• Screen, recruit, consent and support participants.
• Coordinate research visits and data/sample collection as required.
• Support governance, monitoring, audits and quality improvement.
• Provide education, training and advocacy for research within the Trust.
