The Hess laboratory is based at the Cambridge Institute for Therapeutic Immunology and Infectious Disease and broadly investigates the metabolic basis of lymphocyte function and translational aspects of immunometabolic regulation. The ideal candidate will have a qualification in a related biological sciences discipline, as well as laboratory experience in molecular biology and/or cell biology and/or immunology. Familiarity with isolation of primary immune cell subsets from blood, cell culture, and flow cytometry would be desirable. Experience with a range of cellular and molecular biology techniques, such as Western blotting and qPCR is an advantage. Candidates should also demonstrate evidence of being able to effectively troubleshoot research problems and adapt research protocols. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently, are essential.
