About Us
The UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI) is the largest UK initiative supporting research to fill the major knowledge gap in our understanding of dementia-causing diseases.
Research from UK DRI at UCL covers the journey from patient to laboratory and back, focusing on improved diagnosis, biomarkers, and candidate therapies.
The Hong Laboratory, based at UK DRI UCL, investigates neuro-glia-immune interactions in the brain and gut, exploring their roles in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, with a focus on neuroimmune microenvironments at the synapse during aging and neurodegeneration.
About The Role
We offer an exciting opportunity to support a cutting-edge research lab at UK DRI UCL. We seek a motivated individual passionate about neuroimmunology and neuroscience, capable of managing the daily operations of a dynamic, collaborative environment.
You will oversee all laboratory operations in collaboration with the PI and team, combining research, management, and administrative duties. Opportunities include leading independent research projects, grant writing, and funding report preparation.
This role offers a unique chance to be part of a vibrant research environment at the forefront of neuroimmunology and neuroscience, with collaborations across academia and industry.
The position is available from 01 July 2025, funded until 31 May 2027.

About You
You will hold an MS, PhD, or MD in neuroimmunology, neuroscience, biomedical sciences, computational biology, or a related field, with demonstrated project management experience. A strong interest in the lab’s research focus, solid biological understanding, and wet-lab experience in an interdisciplinary setting are essential.
This role qualifies for a UK Skilled Worker Certificate of Sponsorship or a Global Talent visa; applications from international candidates requiring a visa are welcome.
