Job summary

University of Southampton invites applications for a Research Fellow in event-triggered cloud computing. You will help design event-driven compute stacks using Kubernetes, model performance, and collaborate with AI researchers across partner institutions to publish findings and deliver a proof-of-concept for the Bank of England.

The role is full-time on a fixed-term basis until 31 December 2028, with hybrid or in-person working arrangements at Highfield Campus.

Qualifications

• Strong research background in cloud computing and event-triggered architectures.
• Experience with distributed systems and AI/ML interfaces is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Architect event-triggered compute stacks using Kubernetes and container workflows.
• Model performance of event-triggered systems and optimize architectures.
• Collaborate with AI model designers and disseminate results via publications and talks; contribute to a Bank of England PoC.
