Job summary

University of Manchester is seeking a Research Data Manager to lead collection, quality assurance and management of imaging and related clinical datasets for GLIOGEN-X. You will ensure de-identification, secure storage and transfer, and liaise with neuroradiology, neuropathology, neurosurgery and neuro-oncology teams to maintain data flow and accuracy.

Applicants should have a degree in a relevant discipline, HCPC registration, knowledge of DICOM/PACS and experience handling clinical or research

Job description

We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our team as a Research Data Manager. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to GLIOGEN-X, an international consortium funded by the European Union Innovation Council EIC Data Hub, Pathfinder Challenge that proposes a groundbreaking experimental framework for MRI-based, non-invasive virtual biopsy in adult patients with glioma to predicting genetic and epigenetic alterations that are essential to the diagnosis, and prognostic and predictive patients' stratification.

You will be responsible for:

• Lead the collection, quality assurance and management of imaging and associated clinical datasets.
• Ensure de-identification, storage and transfer of project data.
• Liaise with clinical teams in neuroradiology, neuropathology, neurosurgery and neuro-oncology to ensure efficient data flow and data accuracy.
• Monitor data quality and resolve technical issues relating to imaging acquisition and data transfer.
• Build relationships GLIOGEN-X consortium stakeholders including attendance to meetings and contribution to progress reports.

Essential Criteria:

• Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
• Health Care Profession Council registration.
• Understanding of neuroimaging methodologies and MRI workflows.
• Knowledge of DICOM and PACS systems.
• Managing, validating and maintaining clinical or research datasets.

Desirable Criteria:

• Knowledge of neuropathology, glioma classification and molecular diagnostics.
• Awareness of emerging applications of AI and advanced imaging technologies within clinical research.
• Experience of coordinating multi-site research projects.
• Experience of delivering training, guidance or support to clinical or research staff.
• Previous experience of supervising staff, students or project teams.
