Job Description:

Applications are invited for the role of Research Associate in Health Inequalities. The University of Manchester has established Healthier Futures, a new research platform, as a strategic response to health inequalities. The platform aims to:

  • Provide an integrated view of the University’s research on reducing health inequalities, serving as a 'front door' for potential partners and funders.
  • Develop a strategy for the University to be a leading partner in health equity research.
  • Co-produce research and develop new research questions with stakeholders, including communities experiencing health inequalities and local government.
  • Stimulate interdisciplinary research to leverage external funding.
  • Address health inequalities with impactful research at local, national, and global levels.

The successful candidate will be a postdoctoral researcher interested in health inequalities, with skills in quantitative and qualitative research methods. Responsibilities include mapping existing evidence on policies aimed at reducing health disparities, conducting evidence synthesis, developing research proposals, and drafting protocols and publications.

The appointee will work under Professor Dame Nicky Cullum and be based in the Division of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work, School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health. This is a full-time, office-based position on Oxford Road, Manchester.
