Job summary

Keystone Lintels in Cookstown, Northern Ireland, is seeking an experienced Research & Development Engineer to drive innovative projects across the business. You will manage R&D programs, collaborate with procurement, design teams and stakeholders, and deliver cost-effective solutions.

You’ll evaluate technologies, develop prototypes, and produce technical reports while working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced, supportive environment. A background in engineering and CAD tools is essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree or background in Engineering with a Design Discipline.
  • Sound knowledge of the construction or building industry.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit software.
  • Experience with using 2D and 3D CAD.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Research and evaluate technical solutions to support new and ongoing development projects.
  • Identify and assess emerging technologies to support future product innovation.
  • Plan and deliver development, testing and validation activities, producing clear technical reports.
  • Work to detailed project specifications, ensuring activities are delivered on time and to required standards.
  • Collaborate with procurement, supply chain and design teams to identify cost-effective solutions and maximise technology opportunities.
  • Conduct supplier technology benchmarking and support the evaluation of new capabilities.
  • Design and develop prototypes, gauges and systems for a range of applications.
  • Investigate technical issues, support troubleshooting activities and analyse system performance.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and produce technical content for internal and external audiences.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Research & Development Engineer to join the Keystone Lintels team, where you will be responsible for managing research and development projects across the business. Working closely with procurement, design teams and internal stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in identifying new technologies, supporting future product development and delivering cost-effective solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative engineer to gain experience across research and development, project delivery and commercial activities within a fast-paced and supportive environment.
