Job summary

RNN Group is seeking Learning Support Assistants in Rotherham to support students with learning difficulties. Casual hours up to 36 weeks per year, term-time plus one training week, with a pay of £12.96 per hour plus holiday pay.

You will work with the Student Support team to help students achieve their educational goals, collaborating with curriculum staff to tailor learning paths and monitor progress.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths (A*-C/9-4) or the equivalent.
  • Experience supporting students within an educational setting.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare.

Responsibilities

  • Guide students through literacy, numeracy and personal care.
  • Collaborate with curriculum staff to plan, prepare, and review learning paths.
  • Support students with SEND, ALS and EHCP frameworks.

Rotherham Education Services (RES) supply casual and temporary staffing to the RNN Group. The RNN Group consists of Rotherham, Dearne Valley and North Notts colleges.

You Will Have
  • Classroom Experience: Proven track record supporting students within an educational setting.
  • SEND Expertise: Solid understanding or experience with SEND, ALS, and EHCP frameworks.
  • Core Qualifications: GCSE Grade A*–C (9–4) in English and Maths, or the drive to work towards them.
  • Tech Savvy: Confident daily use of Microsoft and Google packages.
  • Key Traits: High reliability, excellent communication skills, and a flexible approach to changing classroom needs.

If you are successful, we will try our best to offer hours at that college. If there are no students that still require support at that site, an alternative may be offered.
