Job summary

RNN Group in Rotherham is seeking a RES Learning Support Assistant - RC to support students with literacy, numeracy and personal care on a casual basis, starting August/September 2026.

You will work up to 36 weeks per year (term time plus 1 training week) with a closing date of 21 September 2026. GCSE English & Maths at A*-C (9-4) and SEND/ALS experience are desirable. The role pays £12.96 per hour plus holiday pay and is based at Rotherham Campus.

Qualifications

• Proven classroom support experience in an educational setting.
• Solid understanding or experience with SEND, ALS, and EHCP frameworks.
• GCSE English and Maths at A*-C (9-4) or working towards them.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Reliable, with excellent communication and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Guide students through literacy, numeracy and personal care.
• Collaborate with curriculum staff to plan, prepare and review learning paths.
• Help students develop coping strategies and navigate challenging moments.
• Track and celebrate student milestones as they achieve personal outcomes.
