Job description

Role Overview

Do you have a customer‑focused mindset and a passion for Agriculture? Love working outdoors, being around livestock, and want a career that gets you out on farms and genuinely makes a difference? If so, this could be the perfect role for you.

Genus ABS are currently looking for a Reproduction Management Specialist to deliver reproductive services to customer farms across the Castle Douglas/Newton Stewart area.

As a Reproduction Management Specialist, you’ll play a key role in supporting the success of our customers’ herds – building and maintaining strong professional relationships with both teammates and farmers while making a real impact on herd fertility and productivity.

You’ll work independently, identifying opportunities, inputting data, and contributing to team results. If you thrive outdoors, enjoy hands‑on work with animals, and want to build a meaningful career in agriculture, we’d love to hear from you!

You Will
  • Visit customer herds to heat‑detect cows and analyse computer records before artificially inseminating the appropriate animals.
  • Support the farm team to improve fertility within the herd; producing healthier and more productive cows to meet the business goals.
  • Work with colleagues to provide outstanding customer service and animal health and welfare; increasing customer loyalty to Genus ABS' products and services.
  • Make informed decisions based on the genetic plan, animal behaviour and data you have available, identifying solutions and presenting recommendations to improve your personal and team performance.
Requirements
  • Full driving license.
  • Previous work experience working with livestock or large animals.
  • Happy to work on a rota basis, 7 days a week, including some early starts – perfect if you like quieter mornings and earlier finishes. Shifts are planned at least one month in advance, giving you plenty of time to plan life around work.
  • Ability to work in the UK without the need of visa sponsorship either now or in the future.
Benefits Overview
  • 30 days holidays.
  • Full training provided.
  • Pension.
  • Health Cash back scheme.
  • Employee Assistance Program.
  • Employee share plan.
  • Fully expensed company vehicle.
  • Laptop and smartphone provided.
  • Enhanced maternity leave: 12 weeks at full pay followed by 4 weeks at 50% followed by SMP.
  • Comprehensive L&D program including career development programs, access to Genus University and Mango (languages).
