Job summary

Niyaa People Ltd seeks an experienced Repairs Surveyor for a social housing client in Yorkshire. You will manage responsive repairs, including damp and mould, inspecting homes, diagnosing defects, and overseeing external contractors to complete remedial works.

You will review contractor proposals, control costs, and ensure value for money while representing the organisation to residents with a professional, empathetic approach. The contract runs until year-end with an immediate start.

Qualifications

• Experience as Repairs/Maintenance Surveyor in social housing.
• Knowledge of damp and mould and property defects.
• Experience inspecting homes and diagnosing remedial works.
• Ability to manage external contractors and scrutinise costs.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Yorkshire.
• Knowledge of housing legislation and Health & Safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out property inspections relating to responsive repairs and wider maintenance.
• Diagnose defects and specify/remediate with appropriate works.
• Review contractor proposals, scopes and costs to ensure value for money.
• Oversee contractor delivery and ensure works meet required standards.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, works, and outcomes.
• Communicate with residents professionally throughout the process.
