Job summary

The Recruitment Group in Oxford is seeking an experienced Repairs & Maintenance Team Leader to drive the delivery of high-quality responsive repairs across roofing, plastering, brickwork and other building trades. This hands-on leadership role involves coaching, allocating workloads and ensuring safety, quality and efficiency on site.

You will oversee a team of trade operatives, conduct site visits, handle workloads during peaks, maintain records and support emergency standby rotations to

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in repairs, maintenance or building services.
• Strong knowledge of building repairs and maintenance.
• Experience coaching or mentoring trade teams.
• Good understanding of health and safety, ideally SMSTS.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Leading and supporting a team of trade operatives, providing guidance, coaching and technical advice.
• Monitoring the quality, safety and timely completion of responsive repairs.
• Carrying out site visits and inspections to ensure high standards of workmanship and compliance.
• Managing workloads and resources effectively, particularly during seasonal and weather-related peaks.
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring relevant IT systems are kept up to date.
• Participating in an out-of-hours emergency standby rota.

Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced Repairs & Maintenance Team Leader to join a busy property and maintenance environment, leading a team responsible for the delivery of high-quality responsive repairs.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will provide direction and technical support to operatives, resolve complex issues, ensure work is completed safely and efficiently, and make sure customers receive a high level of service

You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery and quality of responsive repairs across a range of building trades, including:

• Roofing and tiling
• Plastering and decorating
• Brickwork and groundwork

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and supporting a team of trade operatives, providing guidance, coaching and technical advice.
• Monitoring the quality, safety and timely completion of responsive repairs.
• Carrying out site visits and inspections to ensure high standards of workmanship and compliance.
• Managing workloads and resources effectively, particularly during seasonal and weather-related peaks.
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring relevant IT systems are kept up to date.

The ideal applicant will have:

• Proven experience in a similar repairs, maintenance or building services leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of building repairs and maintenance.
• Experience managing, coaching or mentoring trade teams.
• A strong understanding of health & safety within building and construction, ideally with SMSTS.
• A full UK driving licence.
