Job summary

Trane Technologies, a world leader in climate solutions, seeks a Repair Technician to join our workshop in the UK. You will support repair and refurbishment of hire equipment, troubleshoot faults, and reassemble chillers, pumps and heat exchangers.

The role requires practical hands-on skills, basic IT literacy, and a collaborative mindset. Candidates should have a mechanical background, a valid UK driving licence, and a commitment to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering qualification or time-served apprenticeship preferred.
• Right to Work in country of application; UK driving licence required.
• F-Gas Category 3 certification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot faults on the Hire Equipment fleet.
• Strip down, fix, reassemble chillers, pumps, motors, heat exchangers.
• Replace components, complete repairs and maintain high workshop standards.
• Support the business refurbishment program.

Position Overview

The Repair Technician will join our growing workshop team to support the repair and refurbishment of the Hire Equipment Fleet.

Key Responsibilities

Customer and Technical

• Troubleshoot faults on the Hire Equipment fleet
• Strip down, fix, reassemble chillers, pumps, motors, heat exchangers
• Replace components, complete repairs and maintain high workshop standards
• Supporting the business refurbishment program

Internal Controls and Processes

• Strong knowledge of customer service principles.
• Effective communication skills
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in using a PC and MS Office Suite

Skills and Capabilities

• Competent with basic hand and power tools, strong problem-solving abilities, and basic IT literacy
• Mechanical Engineering qualification or a time served apprenticeship an advantage
• Ability to carry out manual handling duties in line with health and safety guidance
• F-Gas Category 3 an advantage
• Follow Health & Safety regulations, ensuring housekeeping standards are maintained.
• Good Team Work and listening skills
• Right to Work status confirmed for Country of application.
• UK drivers’ licence
