Job summary

Trane Technologies in Southampton, UK, is recruiting a Repair Technician to join our workshop team, supporting repair and refurbishment of the Hire Equipment Fleet.

You will troubleshoot faults, strip down and reassemble chillers, pumps, motors and heat exchangers, and uphold high safety and workshop standards while contributing to refurbishment programs.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering qualification or time-served apprenticeship preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot faults on the Hire Equipment fleet.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• UK driving licence required.

Where Is The Work

Position Overview

The Repair Technician will join our growing workshop team to support the repair and refurbishment of the Hire Equipment Fleet.

Key Responsibilities

Customer and Technical

• Troubleshoot faults on the Hire Equipment fleet
• Strip down, fix, reassemble chillers, pumps, motors, heat exchangers
• Replace components, complete repairs and maintain high workshop standards
• Supporting the business refurbishment program

Internal Controls And Processes

• Strong knowledge of customer service principles.
• Effective communication skills
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in using a PC and MS Office Suite

Skills And Capabilities

• Competent with basic hand and power tools, strong problem-solving abilities, and basic IT literacy
• Mechanical Engineering qualification or a time served apprenticeship an advantage
• Ability to carry out manual handling duties in line with health and safety guidance
• F-Gas Category 3 an advantage
• Follow Health & Safety regulations, ensuring housekeeping standards are maintained.
• Good Team Work and listening skills
• Right to Work status confirmed for Country of application.
• UK drivers' licence
